They are so happy that he can finally have his cold glass of water and eternal life, the two things he longed for. His family will miss him terribly, but are assured they will see him again in heaven where he is no longer in pain and suffering. He prayed for his grandchildren every day, up to the end. John was always happy to spend time with his nine grandchildren, teaching them life lessons on the farm, as well as the fine art of loading hogs. John sold seed corn to friends and neighbors, but enjoyed the visiting more than the sale He also enjoyed meat canning for the MCC (Mennonite Central Committee). He enjoyed farming and spending time in his garden raising vegetables, flowers and hostas. His father baptized him upon the confession of his faith in Jesus Christ as an adult. John accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a very young age. He was a lifelong member of the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church, which is now Cornerstone Bible Church. John sang with the Round Table Singers and Joyful Ministries for many years. They were blessed with two sons, John and James. He was united in marriage to Edna Buller on June 13, 1969. The two brothers worked together for many years. He attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.ДЄfter his fatherвЂ™s death in 1956, John left school and moved to rural Mountain Lake to take over the family farm with his brother, Arnold Regier. John served two years under the 1-W service during the Korean War. He grew up in Mountain Lake and graduated from Mountain Lake High School in 1949. John James Regier was born on January 29, 1931, the son of Reverend David and Barbara (Epp) Regier in Mountain Lake. Regier passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato in Mankato, Minnesota.
